You will be able to take any exams not available online (e.g. Music Theory, Portuguese, Russian, or Latin) when you arrive on campus. These exams will be administered for all schools at the Dietrich School Advising Center in Room 201 Thackeray Hall. No pre-registration is required. Correct placement in classes can drastically affect your academic achievement. Placement exams are not a tool for competition or judgment, they are an opportunity for you to assess yourself in a truthful manner. Beginning your University of Pittsburgh career in courses that match your academic level sets you up to be more successful, rather than enrolling in courses you are not academically prepared for.
If you experience any technical difficulties while you are completing an exam (e.g. you are “kicked out”) or if you have concerns over the submission of your exam, please contact the 24-hour Technology Help Desk at (412) 624-HELP.
