Where to Stay?
So, you've registered for your PittStart session and now you need a place to stay while you're on
campus? No problem. You came to the right place.
The PittStart staff, with the help of the University of Pittsburgh's housing office (Panther Central),
has taken all of the guesswork out of where to stay while you're here! Simply review the information
below to learn more about PittStart student accommodations.
Student Accommodations
On-campus accommodations are available for PittStart students in the Litchfield Towers, which is a
university residence hall located in the center of campus. You will be staying in a double room with one
other student of the same gender. The one-night cost is $30 with linens and a breakfast provided.
Reservations for student accommodations can be processed online. The $30 fee will be reflected in your
fall term bill. Space is limited, so make your reservation today by clicking on the button below.
Overnight accommodations must be processed two weeks prior to the start date of your session.
Please note that the overnight accommodations are for the first night of the PittStart session only. For
example, if you are attending the June 9/10 PittStart session, your overnight stay will be June 9th. Due
to availability, we can only offer student accommodations for one night. Please also note that student
accommodations are for students ONLY. Parents and other family members can find hotel accommodations by
visiting the parent links from the PittStart homepage.
Students attending the August 18-19 session will be permitted to move directly in to their assigned
residence hall room on August 18th. These students must have an assignment for
fall term housing in one of the university residence halls AND are required to pay a $30 fee for
early move in. Additional information about the August 18-19 session will be
posted in mid-summer.
What is in my Room? What do I Need to Bring?
All residence hall rooms are equipped with sheets, pillow, pillow case, light blanket, wash cloths and
towels. We recommend that students bring a heavier blanket/sleeping bag, an alarm clock, all toiletries
and shower shoes.
Maintenance Service
Please make sure you have your Panther Card and room keycard when leaving your room. Should you require
maintenance service, please dial 8-1100 from the on-campus phone. 24 hour emergency service is available.
Residence Hall Telephones
- How to Make On-Campus Calls - Each room has a telephone which can be used at no
charge when calling any university department. When calling an on-campus location, you are only
required to dial the last five digits of the phone number. (i.e. 648-1100, dial 8-1100.) Dial 4-4141
to reach the university operator, who will provide Directory Assistance.
- How to Make Off-Campus Calls - A calling card will be necessary to make any
non-university calls from a campus phone. When using a calling card dial 9, wait for a dial tone,
then follow the instructions for your personal calling card. Please note your calling card must be
accessible with a toll-free number. For further assistance, contact the operator. Information on how
to use the phone will also be in your room when you arrive.
- Emergencies - Dial 811 for all emergencies from any on campus phone. From an
off-campus phone, please dial (412) 624-2121 for all emergencies.
